It operates as a tripartite business unit engaging partners from Gloucestershire County Council, Fire & Rescue and Gloucestershire Police. Through a team representing all partners, they produce high level behaviour change campaigns. Often combined with Police enforcement, the campaigns aim to positively impact on the way drivers/riders use our road networks.The Road Safety team in Gloucestershire chose us to create a beautifully designed campaign that would enable them to provide awareness whilst standing out.
The brief asked for a way to thank drivers in the community and commend excellency whilst reflecting the brand personality; active, informative, engaging, friendly, non-judgemental, realistic. The brand values that needed to be reflected were strength in partnership, striving for excellence, driving innovation, proactive engagement. The campaign would need one image/logo and one slogan. The vision is to improve the quality of life for people living, working and travelling within Gloucestershire by reducing collisions and casualties on our roads and promoting road safety skills for life.
After development the campaign was called Safe Driving. Social Driving. Gloucestershire. With a powerful and clear strap line – “Thinking Of Others.” We chose a memorable icon of a thumbs up – a bold gesture of gratitude that is instantly recognisable. This logo came alive with a unique handwritten script.This design project needed to make real impact and was a branding challenge that must be strong yet friendly even when displayed as printed media. Scale was also an integral part to this brief as the outcome was used on folders, billboards, bus shelters, vehicle decals, and various other signage.
